NYC gays march in Chinatown parade

Some 300 gays and lesbians marched in the Lunar New Year parade in Manhattan’s Chinatown on Feb. 21.

The contingent was joined by Irish and South Asian LGBTs, who have been banned from the city’s St. Patrick’s Day and India Day parades.

Steven Tin, head of the Better Chinatown Society, which organizes the new-year parade, told the New York Daily News he didn’t see any reason to exclude gay marchers.
