BADPUPPY'S EDITOR HAS BOOK BESTSELLER
The Gay Agenda" Ranks 8th on list of 10

by Patricia Conklin

The just-published results of December gay book sales, popularity listings by the nation's oldest and best-known gay book-review magazine, the Lambda Book Report, places The Gay Agenda: Talking Back to the Fundamentalists, 8th among books enjoyed by both men and women. Sales figures garnered from gay book stores in Washington D.C., Virginia, Delaware, and Maryland and from mail order and Lambda Rising Online, show that the $24.95 hardback has, with virtually no reviews, climbed quickly on the charts since its late October publication.

Author, Jack Nichols, Badpuppy's Gay Today editor, is delighted. "Five other books on that list are much-less-expensive paperbacks. In seventh place is former New Republic editor Andrew Sullivan's Virtually Normal, selling for only half the price of The Gay Agenda, and having had much more media-play. My publisher tells me that an author and a book's content are usually the primary reasons for high sales figures, but somehow, I think, the colorful, intriguing cover of The Gay Agenda, has got something to do with this success."
