Unsubstantiated reports have it that the Christian Coalition has captured some ex-Bonobo chimps. These reformed former aberrant transgressors of natural animal behavior are now wearing clothes and have vowed to start their own church.

They will appear on the "700 Club" to discuss their former Bonobo lifestyle and to express their low opinion of President Clinton. Though unable to vote, they will nevertheless campaign for Christian causes. Although Pat Robertson has stated that even ex-Bonobos have no souls, he believes their appearance is a sign of the times. bonobo3.jpg - 22.64 K Unrepentant Bonobo Lesbian Apes Have Sex

Dealing with Politician-Hypocrites

I am tempted to agree with Ricky about exposing hypocrites in Congress. (Pen Points 9/21) But I fear that it is the logical next step in the process of making politics so painful that no one I could respect would ever consider running for office.

I think a higher moral road would be to contact the hypocrite, identify yourself and what you know and how you know it and tell him (or her, I'm sure) to button it. No threats, although that type would leap to the conclusion of blackmail immediately. If he (she) doesn't back off, a silent demonstration would come next, and then a parade of look-alikes to his (her) paramour.

Finally, I think that we need to tell our representatives what we do or don't want and to follow up in November. I have contacted my representative and told her that I don't want her to vote for impeachment or any other action on this matter. She knows now, that if she votes against my wishes, I will vote against her in November, As simple as that. If more of us in the REAL silent majority did that, then the Ayatollahs of Christianity would have less control.

Larry Kramer's Open Letter to The New York Times

> Mr. Bernard Holland
Mr. John Darnton
The New York Times

New York, NY 10036

Gentlemen:

larrykramer.gif - 9.82 KOn Sunday, September 13th, the New York Times Magazine ran a full and exceedingly moving profile about the transgendering of the concert pianist, David Buechner, into Sara Davis Buechner.

On Monday September 14th, Sara Davis Buechner played both Chopin piano concertos with the Jupiter Symphony at the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. This concert, conducted by the distinguished Jens Nygaard, was repeated in its entirety the following evening.

The New York Times did not cover either concert.

I am writing to inquire why. After many years of rave reviews of Ms. Buechner playing as a man, (see particularly the review of his recent recording of the Goldberg Variations in the Sunday Times), suddenly, on this night of her debut in the world, coming after the Times itself had nodded so sympathetically in her direction as a human being achieving something quite remarkable, the arts and music departments for some strange reason decided to ignore her completely.

Since you appear to cover every concert in which a piccolo is tooted anywhere in the vicinity of midtown, I can only assume someone there is having a little trouble with Ms. Buechner's sex change operation. I would identify this as blatant homophobia except that Ms. Buechner does not identify herself as homosexual.

I truly believe an explanation is in order. I await one.

Fundamentalist Pole-Prayers

So Christian teens are spontaneously showing their true religious beliefs by convening at school flag poles to pray. How appropriate that deeply religious hormonal adolescents should instinctively recreate that most ancient and honored of pagan fertility rituals: The Maypole, complete with yoni-lingam (circle and pole), prayers to the sacrificial son/consort through his male member (the pole), and wild celebratory dancing afterwards (to rock music no less).

Mother says, "Welcome home my virginal children; the best is yet to come."
