Compiled By Jack Nichols Upgrading Friendship Archbishop Dr Peter Carnley-"Faithfulness in Fellowship: 'Reflections on Homosexuality and the Church"-quoted by Ross Jacobs in "Anglicans-Blessed are the Queers"-M.C.V. (GLBT Newspaper, Australia) Integration in England New research has revealed that gay and 'straight' lifestyles are becoming more alike. The most detailed study of gay consumers reveals that heterosexuals are increasingly embracing gay culture, while homosexuals are emerging from gay ghettos to enjoy 'straight' lifestyles.

A gay player who comes out will deal with
obstacles far more serious than merely "a teammate or two who'd have an
adolescent 'Oh, my God, he saw me naked in the showers' response,' …Playing
in the majors is difficult enough, it will be grueling for a player who
endures the constant ugly jeers from fans, the hate mail, the physical
threats, the animosity from teammates and the resentment of management.

The First Veterans GLBT Monument The first veterans monument for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender servicemembers killed in combat was unveiled at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City. "It's a turn of the century event," said Palm Springs resident Palt, a former Air Force staff sergeant. "I had hoped for this, but you could have never thought this would become a reality in the 1970s, 1980s or '90s. It's fabulous."

Toleration of dissent is the hallmark of a mature party and it is well past time for the Republican Party to grow up.

Why Winning isn't Everything Perhaps it is the knowledge that we carry in our hearts that nobody ultimately wins. Somewhere we all go down. Force used tyrannically is our common enemy. Why align ourselves with it in whatever shape or fashion?

The Andrew Sullivan Rumor
Beyond the sensationalism of the "bareback" sex revelation, what was most jarring to people who'd received this information was the sheer incongruity between the public persona that many rightly or wrongly perceive as Sullivan's-conservative, moral, devoutly Catholic, marriage-minded, judgmental toward the sexual behavior of politicians and other public figures, and arrogant toward the ghettoized gay scene-and the person depicted on the sites, a gay stereotype more extreme than any of the Village People, someone very much in the gay sexual fast lane, all pumped up and describing his "power glutes," ravenously eager to hook up but letting prospective partners know that "no fats, no fems" need apply. Does Romancing 'the New Squeeze' Mean Marriage? Dragging my near-expiring lungs into an Airbus 320 for a long weekend in San Diego with the new squeeze. Postings might be sporadic for the weekend if things go well. If they don't, look for a forthcoming tirade against the idiocy of romantic love. No-one can say I'm not trying...

Hate Crime Laws Protect Heterosexuals
I would like to describe a heinous crime
that occurred November 7, 1999 in Lawrence, KS. Two heterosexual men,
one a student at Kansas University, were walking down the street when
some men directed anti-gay epithets at them. After responding to the remarks,
the two were attacked by five men. One of the victims was knocked backwards
on a concrete planter and held down while two attackers struck his face
with their fists. The other ran to call the police. This was the third
such incident in as many months. One of the victims said that the police
initially told him they could not arrest the perpetrators because, "it
was their word against ours.''
Senator Gordon Smith (R-Oregan)-- This Takes Real Balls She says she has spent 56 years as a woman trapped in a man's body, unable to live the life she considers normal…Now she wants sexual realignment, and wants to sell her testicles, the trappings of her male past, to fund her surgery.
