Well, how do you get pleasure out of this? You know, you've got all these people there (in the audience) wanting your dick. God! Give it to 'em. Let 'em feel it, taste it, smell it! It gives a little life to our play.

A Father's Fond Memory

He was one of the finest sons a man could want.

Is Big Brother Whacking Off?

1) What is AOL doing monitoring who "enters" their chat rooms? The phone company doesn't routinely monitor your conversations, why should AOL? And which chat rooms does AOL in fact monitor? Anti-government chat rooms? Republican chat rooms? Gay and lesbian chat rooms?

2) How does AOL justify suggesting you may have committed a crime, simply because you visited a chat room? In about one-third of the states sodomy is still a crime. Would AOL monitor Alabama M4M chat rooms to see if any gay guys get lucky?

Rev. Phelps' Grandson Sports Nail Polish Remover

phelpscana.jpg - 6.54 K U.S. anti-gay demonstrators protesting in Ottawa yesterday had to ask a police officer how to burn the Canadian flag without setting themselves ablaze…

"He (Phelps' grandson) said, 'What do we put on it to make it burn', and I said, 'You can put almost anything on it, kerosene or lighter fluid or anything,'" said Sgt. Kirkland. "So they used nail polish remover."

Whatever Happened to Demon Rum?

For us, opposition to homosexuality is an integral part of the Christian message, and any church that ceases to preach this is no longer following God's will.

Rev. Phillip Chaney--Southern Baptist minister—InterPress Service, August 1

How Can 'Disordered' Gays commit Such 'Evil' Acts?

popecouple.jpg - 25.22 K I read with some confusion the statement of the Roman Catholic Church that homosexual orientation is "disordered" and that homosexual acts are "intrinsically evil" ("Vatican bars Md. priest, nun from ministry to gays," July 15).

What does "disordered" mean? Does it mean mental illness – should all gay and lesbian people be in treatment?

And how can a "disordered" person commit an act that is "intrinsically evil"?

Shouldn't mental illness mitigate the evil act, as it does in the legal system?

According to the church, a poor, "disordered" gay person must live out his or her life without sexual contact of any kind: what a drag.

That's almost as bad as being burned at the stake for being "disordered" enough to embrace the evil idea that the Earth revolved around the Sun.

Guy J. Avery—"Letters to the Editor"—The Baltimore Sun, August 1

Is Present-Day Marriage Old Fashioned?

gaymarriagframe.jpg - 14.03 K (Paula) Ettelbrick noted that marriage sets social standards that "are at odds with being gay" and that the interconnected social influences of new gender roles, feminism, reproductive technology, and LGBT visibility have forced America to reconstruct marriage and family in ways that are "pragmatic, nonmoralistic, and not (just) symbolic." She also noted that legalizing same-sex marriage "will not solve everything."

Seth J. Bookey— "Varied Views on Marriage at Town Meeting"—LGNY, July 15

Either/Or

Forget "New Left" vs. "Libertarian." Forget "progressive" vs. "alternative." The great political debate among visionary thinkers today is between the globalists and the localists… "Sustainable Globalization" and "Progressive Localism" are competing visions of how the world should be developed.

Mark Satin—"Globalization vs. Localism: Our Real Political Debate"—Mark Satin Report, July

AIDS is World War III

A recent report by the World Bank warned: "Not since the bubonic plague of the European Middle Ages has there been so large a threat to hundreds of millions of people and the future of entire economies. AIDS is no longer a problem of medication. It is a problem of development."

British Medical Journal—August 7

"If the county would only change the name of the park, none of these things would happen," joked Jack Nichols, senior editor of GayToday, an online magazine.
