A British transsexual is suing the British government
before the European Court of Human Rights because it
won't give her her pension at age 60 like it does
other women.
Britain's National Insurance agency told Christine Goodwin she is actually a man. Men receive their pensions at age 65. A former bus driver, Goodwin underwent sexual-reassignment surgery in 1990. Most of the 41 member nations of the Council of Europe recognize a sex change as legally valid. Only the U.K., Ireland, Andorra and Albania do not.
