ONE and (RED) Host Panel Discussion on â??the Beginning of the End of AIDSâ?

To mark World AIDS Day 2011, ONE and (RED) are hosting a high-level panel discussion on reaching â??the beginning of the end of AIDSâ?. Major progress has been made in the last 10 years in the fight against global AIDS thanks in large part to US leadership, and now new scientific discoveries hold great promise for reducing infection rates. If the world comes together over the next few years, we could finally see the beginning of the end of the AIDS pandemic, but only if a broad coalition â?? government and activists, business and faith leaders â?? comes together to build on the progress already made.

Through a partnership with YouTube, the event will be streamed live on ONEâ??s official YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/theonecampaign. The panelists will respond to questions from a moderator, as well as to a selection of questions submitted by citizens on YouTube.

Attendees include President Barack Obama. President George W. Bush (via satellite in Tanzania), President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete of Tanzania (via satellite in Tanzania),  President Bill Clinton (via satellite), Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA), Bono â?? Lead Singer of U2 and Co-Founder of ONE and (RED), Alicia Keys â?? Artist and Co-Founder of Keep a Child Alive (KCA),  Dr. Patricia Nkansah-Asamoah â?? Director of PMTCT Clinic at Tema Hospital in Accra, Ghana,  Florence Ngobeni — HIV Educator and Ambassador for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and Kay Warren â?? Founder, HIV & AIDS Initiative, Saddleback Church.

The event will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011. Preset for Cameras will be from 5:30 AM – 6 AM, Doors Open for Press from 8:30 AM – 9:45 AM and Panel Discussion from  10:00 AM – 12 PM.  The location is the Jack Morton Auditorium, George Washington University, 805 21st Street, NW (corner of H and 21st Streets), Washington, DC 20052.
