The Trevor Project Partners with Mogreet

The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, launched an innovative mobile campaign surrounding its red carpet Trevor Live event at the Hollywood Palladium that generated widespread awareness, and featured exclusive mobile messages from a number of Hollywood’s top stars. The mobile campaign was powered by Mogreet, the leading mobile MMS messaging platform provider for the delivery of rich media to mobile devices.

The mobile campaign featured real-time red carpet and in-venue MMS text-to-win contests, sponsored by Miller Coors. The star-studded event brought together power players from all ends of the spectrum including entertainment and technology leaders, featuring speeches from world-renowned music artist Lady Gaga and Eric Schmidt, Chairman of Google.

“With the countless support from our sponsors, celebrities and volunteers, we’ve helped raise awareness to the struggles and pressures that LGBTQ youth face in today’s society,” said David McFarland, Interim Executive Director and CEO of The Trevor Project. “The Trevor Project’s mission is to provide these young people with the resources, support and community environment to thrive. Mobile provides us with the means to reach our followers in the most personal medium, and provide them with powerful messages that can directly impact their lives by letting them know that they have a supportive community that they can depend on.”

Attendees who texted TREVOR to 51515 had the chance to enter a red carpet text-to-win rich media contest and win prizes at the event. The campaign also featured video thank you messages from a number of celebrities including Neil Patrick Harris, Fergie and Josh Duhamel, Darren Cris, Amy Poehler, Will Arnett, Eddie Cibrian, LeAnn Rimes, and Zachary Quinto, Trevor Live Show Producer Adam Shankman, and many of the cast members from the hit series GLEE.

“The Trevor Project provides a critical support infrastructure for at risk youth,” said Patrick Mahoney, VP of Strategy and Business Development, Mogreet. “The Trevor Project’s mobile video and messaging initiative allows for fans and supporters of Trevor to have real time participation in events and delivers a personalized experience for everyone, regardless of location.”
