TLC no longer working with Derick Dillard over transphobic tweets about Jazz Jennings

TLC has announced it will no longer be working with Derick Dillard following transphobic tweets he wrote targeting trans teen Jazz Jennings.

Married to Jill Duggar, and was the ‘star’ of 19 Kids and Counting spin-off Counting On, misgendered the 17-year-old trans advocate.

Jennings has her own show on the TLC network, I Am Jazz.

Derick Dillard went on transphobic rant

‘I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child,’ Dillard wrote in a tweet in which he misgenders the teen.

‘It’s sad that ppl would use a juvenile this way. Again, nothing against him, just unfortunate what’s on TV these days.’

He added in another tweet: ‘Also, has anyone looked into whether a child is capable of making that kind of decision. We can’t vote ’til we’re 18; our brains aren’t fully developed ’til around 25.’

Jazz Jennings responds in the best way

When people criticized his tweets, he responded by saying: ‘Jazz is being taken advantage of, as part of a larger agenda.

‘I really have nothing against the kid and wish him all the best in life. I just hate seeing him used this way.’

Even though Jennings is 17, and Dillard is 28, the young teen came off as the most mature.

She said: ‘In the face of constant ignorance and hatred I prefer to disregard negative opinions and continue moving forward with love.’
