9th Annual GLAAD Awards For Media

Elizabeth Taylor, Tony Bennett, Cher, Calista Flockhart, Sigourney Weaver, Ellen DeGeneres, k.d. lang and many others are scheduled to appear at the 9th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which will take place in three ceremonies to be held in New York on March 30, in Washington, DC on April 4 and in Los Angeles on April 19.

Celebrities will present awards to recipients in the categories that include: Outstanding Film, Television Comedy Series, Television Drama Series, Television-Individual Episode, Made-for-Television Movie, Television Journalism, Print Journalism, Advertising, Comic Books, Music and Theater.

Expected in New York are Joy Behar, Tony Bennett, Kate Clinton, Phil Donahue, Cherry Jones, k.d. lang, Cristina Saralegui, Marlo Thomas, Sigourney Weaver, and Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

Scheduled to appear at the Washington, DC Awards ceremony are Margarethe Cammermeyer, Ricki Lake, Judith Light, Mary Louise Parker, Hillary Rosen, Scott Simon and Bob Smith.

Cher, Jane Curtin, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ellen DeGeneres, Dana Delaney, Fran Drescher, Calista Flockhart, Anne Heche, Kathy Kinney, Howie Mandel, Garry Marshall and Elizabeth Taylor are scheduled to appear at the Los Angeles Media Awards.

The GLAAD Media Awards were created in 1990 to honor individuals and projects in the media and entertainment industries for their balanced and accurate representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.

The New York City ceremony takes place on March 30 at the New York Hilton Hotel, and includes cocktails and a Silent Auction at 6:00 PM, followed by a Dinner and Awards Presentation at 7:30 PM. For ticket information, contact Levy Pazanti and Associates at (888) 655-6529.
