Michele Bachmann looks to Trump to reverse ‘evil’ gay agenda

President-elect Donald Trump can easily make Michele Bachmann happy. All he has to do is reverse any pro-LGBTI policy put in place by the Obama White House.

The failed 2012 presidential candidate, and former congresswoman, was a guest on Family Research Council President Tony Perkins’ Washington Watch radio show. Last month Perkins, another anti-gay rights advocate, called for the incoming president to remove all State Department officials  supporting LGBTI rights. Bachmann agreed, calling gay and lesbian rights ‘evil.’

‘You brought it up yourself with the State Department, where we’ve seen such evil come out of our State Department, unfortunately, where financial incentives are withheld from countries unless they advance, for instance, the gay agenda,’ Bachmann said.

She continued by arguing President Obama forced countries to have gay pride parades.

‘The US government is telling another government that you have to have gay pride parades,’ she continued. ‘That’s unbelievable. You won’t get your PEPFAR money, you won’t get your USAID money unless you follow our radical social agenda?’

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is responsible for civilian foreign aid. It is taken as fact by a number of religious conservatives that calling for human rights for LGBTI citizens is “telling governments” to support gay pride parades.

This past August, according to The Hill, the conservative Republican boasted she had Trump’s ear on foreign policy. She is a member of the president-elect’s Evangelical Advisory Board.
