Mike Huckabee knows the “greatest threat” to America: queer people

Former Arkansas governor, GOP Presidential hopeful and over-all troll Mike Huckabee has lashed out at the queer community, labeling LGBTQ people the “greatest threat” to America. Sorry, ISIL (gosh, we never thought we’d write that).

Huckabee, in an interview with The Christian Post, decried the advances in equality made by queer people over the past decade. “The biggest threat to biblical principles today is the failure to apply a biblical standard of maleness and femaleness,” he said. “We are creating this illusion that there is no gender, there is no identity, and I’m blaming the Christian Church.” He went on to lay out how no-fault divorce led to a greater acceptance of gay people. “That’s when we first started losing that sense of sacredness of what marriage meant,” he claimed. “So I’m not really that surprised that same sex-marriage has become in vogue because the Christian Church were the ones who essentially abdicated a strict responsibility about what biblical marriage should look like.”

“Once you’ve destroyed that,” Huckabee continued, “why can’t you have any and everything? The gender dysphoria we’re seeing today is largely due to the fact that the Church has failed to present very clearly the words of Jesus and Genesis 5:2: “Male and female He created them.’”

Huckabee went on to disparage single parents, young people and technology for the decay in America’s moral fiber…though he never could quite explain how any of said factors have caused all the current woes of the United States.

Prior to his Presidential runs in 2008 and 2016, as well as his career in government, Huckabee worked as a Southern Baptist minister. His daughter is the widely criticized Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Press Secretary to the Trump White House.
